Retro Board

  1. 1

    Pick a template

Start/Stop/Continue, Mad/Sad/Glad, 4Ls, Sailboat, and more — or go custom.

  2. 2

    Everyone writes privately

Cards are hidden from others as you type. No anchoring — pure independent thought.

  3. 3

    Publish when ready

Hit Publish All in any column. Others see your name but not the content yet.

  4. 4

    Facilitator reveals all

One click flips every card. Discussion and dot-voting begins immediately.

  5. 5

    Close & get AI summary

Claude reads every card and generates themes, sentiment, and sprint recommendations.

Planning Poker

  1. 1

    Create a session

Pick your deck — Fibonacci, T-shirt sizes, powers of 2, or a custom set of values.

  2. 2

    Add your stories

Paste in ticket titles or descriptions. Set one as active to start a round.

  3. 3

    Team votes face-down

Everyone picks a card simultaneously. No one sees others' votes until reveal.

  4. 4

    Reveal together

All cards flip at once. Outliers are highlighted so discussion stays focused.

  5. 5

    Lock the estimate

Facilitator finalises the point value and moves to the next story.

Async Standup

  1. 1

    Configure once

Set your questions and schedule. The default three questions work for most teams out of the box.

  2. 2

    Share the submit link

Drop it in Slack, a calendar invite, or a bookmark. No account needed to submit.

  3. 3

    Team submits async

Each person answers on their own time — morning, night, different timezone. No meeting required.

  4. 4

    Read the feed

Today's submissions land in one scrollable view. Blockers are flagged visually.

  5. 5

    AI digest (Team plan)

Claude reads all submissions and writes a single brief highlighting blockers and patterns.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it work for remote teams?expand_more
Yes — it's built for remote-first. Retro cards, poker votes, and board status all update in real time for every participant. No refreshing needed.
Can guests join without creating an account?expand_more
Yes. Click Share on any retro board to get a unique invite link. Guests open it, enter their name, and are in the live board within seconds — no signup, no password.
When do other people see my retro cards?expand_more
Cards are private by default. While the board is open, others see your name but not the content. The facilitator's Reveal Cards button flips everything at once — that's when voting starts.
How does the AI summary work?expand_more
When a retro board is closed, ScrumTool sends all cards and action items to Claude. It returns a 3–5 sentence summary, top themes, overall team sentiment, and recommended focus areas for next sprint — usually within a few seconds.
Can I use anonymous retros?expand_more
Yes. Toggle anonymous mode when creating a board and card authors are hidden from all participants, including the facilitator.
What planning poker decks are supported?expand_more
Fibonacci, T-shirt sizes, powers of 2, or a fully custom deck. The deck is chosen per session.
Do I need to be in a meeting to use async standup?expand_more
No — that's the point. Team members submit on their own schedule. You read the feed when it suits you, and the AI digest (Team plan) surfaces blockers so nothing gets missed.
